Poor Waste Management Turns Pashupati Parking Area Into a Mess
Poor waste management has turned the parking lot at Bankali in the Pashupati area into a messy and dirty space. Trash left behind by pilgrims after cooking and washing has piled up, creating an unpleasant environment.
Visitors and local people said plastic waste, food remains, and dirty water can be seen across the parking area. The problem has become more serious during busy days when many pilgrims visit the Pashupati temple.
The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has said it is finding it difficult to strictly enforce waste management rules. Officials said lack of awareness among visitors and limited manpower have made cleaning efforts challenging.
Local residents have urged authorities to take strong action and improve waste control measures. They said better monitoring, proper dustbins, and public awareness are needed to keep the sacred area clean.
