Nepal and India to Ease QR Code Payments for Nepali Visitors

Nepal and India have agreed to further ease QR code based payment services for Nepali citizens visiting India. The move aims to make digital payments more convenient during travel, shopping, and daily expenses.

The issue was discussed during a meeting between Nepal Rastra Bank Governor and Indian officials. Both sides talked about improving cross border digital payment systems to support smooth transactions for Nepali users in India.

Officials said the step will help reduce the need to carry cash and encourage safe and fast digital payments. It is also expected to support tourism, trade, and people to people movement between the two countries.

Authorities from both nations are working on technical and policy arrangements to make the system user friendly. Further details are expected to be announced after final discussions.
