Over Rs 31 Million Looted From Bank in Sindhuli
More than Rs 31 million was looted from a Nepal SBI Bank branch in Sindhuli on Tuesday. A masked gang attacked the bank at Hayutar in ward 2 of Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality, injured a security guard, and escaped with a large amount of cash.
According to police, the attackers entered the bank, assaulted the guard, and broke into the cash section. The incident created fear among local residents, and the bank was closed soon after the robbery.
Police launched a search operation soon after the incident. During the operation, a large portion of the stolen money was recovered from a nearby forest. Authorities believe the robbers hid the cash while trying to flee the area.
An investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest the gang members. Police said more arrests and recoveries may follow as the case is further examined.
