National Economic Census to Begin from Mid-March

The government has announced that the National Economic Census will begin from mid-March, aiming to collect comprehensive data on businesses and economic activities across the country. The census is expected to provide a clearer picture of Nepal’s economic structure and workforce engagement.

Officials said the census will cover formal and informal sectors, including industries, services, and small enterprises. The collected data will help policymakers understand regional economic trends, employment patterns, and sector-wise contributions to the national economy.

The findings of the census are expected to support evidence-based planning and policy formulation. Authorities have urged businesses and individuals to cooperate during the data collection process, emphasizing that accurate information is essential for effective economic development and future growth strategies.
