Body Wrapped in Bedsheet Found Near Bus Park Identified as Third-Gender Individual; Identity Still Unknown
KATHMANDU, Nov 23 — The body discovered near the New Bus Park in Tokha Municipality–9 has been confirmed to belong to a third-gender individual, though their identity remains unknown, according to Kathmandu District Police Range.
SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, the Range spokesperson, said the absence of identification documents has made the investigation more challenging.
Police arrived at the scene after receiving information about the body and launched an inquiry. During the preliminary examination, the body was found wrapped and tightly bundled inside a bedsheet.
Given the suspicious circumstances, investigators are treating the case as a possible homicide. However, police clarified that the body had not been dismembered and was found intact.
The body has been sent to TU Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination. Efforts to confirm the individual’s identity are ongoing.
