Woman Victim of Loan Dispute Brutally Murdered in Dhanusha

Janakpurdham, Nov 11: A 62-year-old woman was brutally murdered in Dhanusha district, police said. The victim has been identified as Chandrakala Devi Das of Hanspur Municipality–7, Nauwakhore.

According to Dhanusha Police Spokesperson DSP Ganesh Bam, her body was discovered on Monday evening in a field about 500 meters from her home. The victim had severe injuries to her face and head, apparently inflicted by a sharp weapon.

Authorities reported that one person has been arrested in connection with the case. Police were notified around 9 pm and promptly reached the crime scene.

The perpetrators also stole the victim’s gold and silver jewelry. While police later recovered the items, the identities of those responsible for the theft have not been disclosed.

Locals told authorities that the woman had previously fallen victim to loan sharking, and police suspect the murder may be linked to this financial dispute.
