UNSEEN Exhibition: Where Art Meets Empathy and Inclusion in Kathmandu
Kathmandu The UNSEEN Exhibition , hosted by the Alliance Française of Kathmandu in collaboration with the Aakar Foundation, celebrated the boundless creativity of children and individuals with autism. The event took place from October 17–18, 2025, at the Alliance Française Auditorium, running from 10 AM to 6 PM each day.
A heartfelt celebration of creativity, inclusion, and expression, the exhibition invited visitors into a world where art meets empathy and imagination knows no limits.
A Platform for Unseen Talents
The UNSEEN Exhibition showcased vibrant paintings, sketches, and mixed media creations by neurodiverse artists. Each artwork reflected a unique emotional depth and offered viewers a glimpse into how individuals with autism perceive and interpret the world around them.
Organizers said the goal was to empower neurodiverse children and help society recognize their artistic and emotional intelligence. “These artworks remind us that creativity is universal it transcends language, condition, or limitation,” shared a representative from the Aakar Foundation.
Collaboration for a More Inclusive Society
The Aakar Foundation has long been advocating for autism awareness and inclusion through art-based programs. Their collaboration with the Alliance Française extends beyond this exhibition the two institutions also conduct monthly art classes for neurodiverse children.
These sessions not only nurture artistic skills but also help participants build confidence, improve social interaction, and express themselves freely in a safe, encouraging environment.
Art as a Bridge to Understanding
The exhibition succeeded in creating a compassionate space where art became a bridge between different worlds that of neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals. Visitors described the event as both inspiring and eye-opening, offering a chance to experience the beauty of diverse minds through colors and creativity.
