Weather Gradually Improving Across Nepal as Cyclone Montha Weakens
Kathmandu, November 2
Weather conditions across Nepal, which had been affected by Cyclone Montha originating from the Bay of Bengal, are showing signs of gradual improvement, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
Meteorologists said the cyclone’s impact has weakened, bringing clearer skies to most parts of the country. However, light rainfall and snowfall may still occur in some hilly and mountainous regions due to lingering effects of westerly winds and a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea.
The department reported that light rain or snowfall is possible in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, particularly in higher altitudes. While these provinces may experience partly cloudy conditions, the rest of the country is likely to enjoy mostly clear weather throughout the day.
In the afternoon, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Madhesh and other provinces, and mostly clear elsewhere. By nighttime, skies over the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki will remain partly cloudy, with clear conditions prevailing across the remaining regions.
Officials have assured that weather conditions will continue to improve further in the coming days as the cyclone’s influence completely dissipates.
