Today’s Weather: Snowfall Likely in High Hill and Mountainous Areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim

Nepal is set to experience changing weather conditions today, with snowfall likely in the high hill and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. According to the latest forecast, the influence of a western weather system is expected to increase cloud cover and bring colder conditions to higher elevations.

In these regions, light to moderate snowfall may occur, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Such conditions could affect daily life in mountain districts, including transportation, livestock management, and outdoor activities. Trekkers and travelers heading toward high-altitude destinations are advised to remain cautious, as snowfall can reduce visibility and make trails and roads slippery.

Meanwhile, lower hill and Terai areas are expected to experience partly cloudy to mainly fair weather, with cold mornings and evenings continuing across much of the country. Temperatures are likely to remain low, particularly in early hours, increasing the risk of cold-related health issues among children, elderly people, and those living in poorly insulated homes.

Meteorological authorities have urged residents of high-altitude regions to take necessary precautions, including staying updated with weather forecasts and avoiding unnecessary travel during snowfall. As winter conditions persist, preparedness and awareness remain crucial to minimizing weather-related disruptions and ensuring public safety.
