Three Arrested in Kathmandu for Allegedly Defrauding Victims with False Job Promises

Police in Kathmandu have arrested three individuals accused of defrauding several people by promising overseas employment opportunities. According to authorities, the suspects allegedly lured victims with attractive salary offers and false assurances of sending them to Croatia and the United States for work.

The arrests were carried out by the Nepal Police following complaints from victims who claimed they were asked to pay large sums of money in exchange for foreign job placements. Investigators said the accused collected money while promising quick processing of visas and employment contracts abroad.

Authorities reported that the suspects allegedly used misleading information and fake assurances to convince job seekers that they would secure well-paid positions overseas. Many victims reportedly trusted the offers due to the promise of high salaries and better employment opportunities in foreign countries.

Foreign employment scams have become a recurring issue in Nepal, where thousands of citizens seek jobs abroad each year. Fraudsters often exploit the demand for overseas work by presenting false recruitment schemes and charging illegal fees from job seekers.

Police officials have urged the public to remain cautious when dealing with foreign employment agencies or individuals offering jobs abroad. They have advised job seekers to verify recruitment agencies and follow official procedures before making any financial payments.

Investigations into the case are ongoing, and authorities are working to identify whether additional victims or accomplices may be involved in the alleged ForeignEmploymentFraudNepal scheme.
