Three Arrested in Jhapa and Sunsari for Possession of Banned Drugs
Police have arrested three individuals from separate locations in Jhapa District and Sunsari District on charges related to possession of banned medicines and the illegal drug commonly known as brown sugar.
According to authorities, the suspects were detained on Falgun 11 during routine security operations conducted in the two districts. Police stated that the arrests were made after searches led to the recovery of prohibited substances.
The JhapaDrugArrest and SunsariBrownSugarCase are part of ongoing efforts under NepalNarcoticsControl initiatives aimed at curbing the distribution and use of illegal drugs. Law enforcement agencies have intensified monitoring and inspection campaigns in various districts.
Officials confirmed that the individuals are currently in custody, and further investigation is underway to determine the source and intended distribution network of the seized substances. Legal procedures have been initiated in accordance with prevailing narcotics control laws.
Police have reiterated their commitment to combating drug-related activities and urged the public to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities to local authorities.
