Subin Bhattarai Releases New Story Collection ‘Chameliko Phool Baijani Rumal’

KATHMANDU, Oct 18 — Renowned Nepali author Subin Bhattarai has released his latest story collection titled ‘Chameliko Phool Baijani Rumal’. The book was officially launched on Friday at the Nepal Academy Dabali by the author himself and one of his devoted readers, Rashmila Thapa, who travelled all the way from Chitwan to attend the event.

During the launch, Bhattarai shared insights into his creative inspiration behind the collection. “Although the title emphasizes the colour purple, each story carries its own hue — every character and narrative is painted with distinct emotional shades,” he explained.

Speaking about his journey as a storyteller, Bhattarai revealed that the stories were born out of his deep love for cinema. “My fascination with films began in childhood and evolved as I grew older. While I never had the courage or technical skills to make a movie, I wanted my stories to feel cinematic — vivid and full of life. This collection is the result of that dream,” he said.

Bhattarai first entered Nepal’s literary world with his story collection ‘Kathaki Patra’ and went on to gain national recognition with bestselling novels like ‘Saya’, ‘Summer Love’, ‘Monsoon’, ‘Priya Sufi’, and ‘Ijoria’.

His newly released collection, ‘Chameliko Phool Baijani Rumal’, has been published by FinePrint Publications and is now available in bookstores across Nepal.
