Sports Minister Slams ANFA Over Poor Women’s Team Management

Nepal’s Sports Minister has strongly criticized the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) for its poor management of the national women’s football team, raising serious concerns about the lack of support, planning, and professionalism within the organization.

During a recent meeting, the minister expressed disappointment over the negligence and mismanagement faced by female athletes, emphasizing that such practices are damaging the growth of women’s football in Nepal. The remarks come amid growing frustration among players over inadequate facilities, delayed payments, and lack of international exposure.

The minister highlighted that while the men’s football team often receives better resources and media attention, the women’s team continues to be overlooked despite their remarkable performances in several regional tournaments. “Our women players deserve respect, equal opportunities, and a transparent system that values their hard work,” the minister said.

Sports analysts have also joined the debate, urging ANFA to reform its internal management and ensure accountability in how funds are distributed and teams are prepared for competitions.

The controversy has reignited discussions on gender equality in sports, with fans and athletes calling for immediate action to uplift women’s football and create a fairer sporting environment in Nepal.
