Singapore to Invest $785 Million in Public AI Research
Singapore has announced plans to invest more than Sg$1 billion (around $785 million) in public research on artificial intelligence through 2030, aiming to strengthen its technological capabilities and enhance its global competitiveness.
The investment will focus on advancing AI research, developing talent, and supporting the adoption of artificial intelligence across key sectors such as healthcare, education, finance, and public services.
Government officials said the initiative is part of Singapore’s long term strategy to position itself as a leading hub for innovation and advanced technology. The funding will support research institutions, universities, and collaborations with the private sector.
