Shantichowk Accident: Four Seriously Injured Referred to Biratnagar for Advanced Care
UDAYAPUR, Nov 10
Four people who sustained serious injuries in an accident at Shantichowk, Bagaha of Triyuga Municipality–4, have been referred to Biratnagar for further treatment, authorities said. The crash injured a total of 12 people.
According to the District Hospital in Gaighat, the four referred patients are:
- Ramkumari Rai (60) of Triyuga-11, Sangam Tol
- Khadga Bahadur Khadka (77) of Triyuga-2, Khaijanpur
- Nar Bahadur Khatri (50) of Triyuga-2
- Kebal Thakuri (22) of Triyuga-7, Chuhade
Seven others have been discharged following treatment. They include:
- Purna Bahadur Rai (74) and Prajita BK (17) of Triyuga-11, Sangam Tol
- Tirtha Ghimire (45) of Khijidemba Rural Municipality–2, Okhaldhunga
- Chandramaya Chaudhary (27) of Surunga Municipality–1, Saptari, and her daughter Erina Chaudhary (4)
- Shambhuraj Pokharel (44) of Gokarneshwar Municipality–2, Kathmandu
Two individuals are still receiving care at the District Hospital:
- Gyanendra BK (44) of Triyuga-12
- Upendra Sah (26), the driver of the vehicle, a resident of Hanumannagar Municipality, Saptari, currently living in Triyuga-3, Motigadha
The accident took place when a Winger vehicle (Na 1 Ja 8391), traveling from Gaighat toward Lahan along the Sagarmatha Highway, lost control and crashed into a roadside cement wall at Shantichowk, police said.
