Seven-Vehicle Collision on Muglin–Narayangadh Road Injures 21, Halts Traffic
Chitwan, Oct 18 — A massive road accident involving seven vehicles on the Muglin–Narayangadh section early this morning left 21 people injured and completely blocked the highway, according to the District Police Office (DPO), Chitwan.
The crash occurred around 7:15 AM at Gaighat when a truck (Na 8 Kha 6629) heading toward Narayangadh and a bus (Ba 4 Kha 7420) traveling from the opposite direction collided head-on.
Following the initial impact, several other vehicles moving in the same convoy — a trailer (Na 7 Kha 9607), an electric microbus (Ba Pra 06-001 Ga 0484), another bus (Ga 2 Kha 1626), a Bolero jeep (Na 3 Cha 3256), and a car (Ba A Ba 8470) — also crashed, police reported.
The injured have been taken to different hospitals in Bharatpur for treatment. Among them, 13 are receiving care at National City Hospital, four at New Medical College, and four at Janata Care Hospital, the DPO confirmed.
DSP Govinda Puri, Chief of DPO Chitwan, said the number of injured could rise as further details come in. The Muglin–Narayangadh road remains completely blocked, causing major traffic disruption in the area.
