Over 4,000 Bottles of Illegal Chinese Liquor Seized in Humla

HUMLA, Nov 5:
Police in Humla have confiscated more than 4,000 bottles of illegal Chinese liquor during a coordinated operation across multiple locations in the district.

According to the Humla District Police Office, a team led by DSP Shankar Pokharel seized a total of 351 cartons, amounting to 4,212 bottles, of smuggled Chinese liquor. The liquor was recovered from Hilsa checkpoint, Dhad Kermi, and Tumkot areas within Namkha Rural Municipality.

DSP Pokharel said the operation was conducted around midnight on Tuesday, adding that the seized liquor is estimated to be worth NPR 1.68 million, calculated at NPR 400 per bottle.

Additionally, police recovered 2,022 liters of non-consumable Chinese liquor that had been abandoned. Authorities confirmed that the confiscated non-consumable liquor will be destroyed as per legal procedures.
