NEPSE Falls 30.02 Points as Daily Turnover Drops to Rs 4.90 Billion
KATHMANDU, Nov 9
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a significant decline on Sunday, slipping 30.02 points to close at 2,566.09.
The market opened at 2,596.12 points and trended downward throughout the session. NEPSE hit an intraday low of 2,561.39 points in the final 33 minutes of trading before recovering slightly by about five points at closing.
All 13 trading sub-indices ended in negative territory. The life insurance and non-life insurance groups posted the steepest declines, losing 174.95 points and 146.36 points, respectively.
The sensitive index, which tracks the performance of major ‘A’ class companies, fell 5.90 points.
Meanwhile, daily turnover also shrank, dropping to Rs 4.90 billion, compared to Rs 5.41 billion in the previous session.
Of the companies traded, 28 registered gains, while 222 recorded losses. Union Hydropower Limited posted the highest transaction volume with shares worth Rs 277.67 million traded.
Unnati Sahakarya Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited emerged as the day’s biggest loser, whereas Daramkhola Hydro Energy Limited saw the highest gain, with its share price rising 9.99 percent.
