Nepse Crosses 2,600 Mark After 11 Days, Turnover Surges Past Rs7.5 Billion
KATHMANDU, Oct 31
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index rebounded strongly on Thursday, rising by 34.22 points to close at 2,600.38, marking its first return above the 2,600-point level in 11 trading days.
The benchmark index climbed 1.33 percent compared to Wednesday’s session, when it had slipped by 5.17 points to settle at 2,566.16.
Market activity was robust, with 26.01 million shares traded across 53,112 transactions, generating a total turnover of Rs7.51 billion.
Out of all listed companies, 216 saw price gains, 28 declined, and five remained unchanged.
Almost all sectors contributed to the upward momentum, with 13 out of 14 subgroups ending in positive territory. The life insurance, non-life insurance, manufacturing and processing, and hydropower sectors led the rally, while only the mutual fund subgroup posted a minor loss.
The rise reflects renewed investor confidence and active participation across major sectors, signaling growing market optimism after days of subdued trading.
