Nepathya Returns to Pokhara with ‘Nepathya for Sports’ Concert to Promote Cricket
POKHARA, Nov 4
Renowned Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya is set to perform in its hometown this Friday at Pokhara Stadium, marking its return to the city after three years. The upcoming concert, themed “Nepathya for Sports,” aims to promote cricket in Nepal while supporting the jersey launch of Nepal Premier League (NPL) team Pokhara Avengers.
The initiative seeks to connect music lovers with sporting activities, blending the power of art and athletics to inspire positivity and community engagement.
Fans who purchase Pokhara Avengers jerseys will gain free entry to the concert. The first 1,000 discounted early-bird jerseys, released Thursday evening, sold out within 13 hours. Organizers plan to sell an additional 2,000 jerseys at the stadium gate on Friday morning. Proceeds from jersey sales will be used to distribute cricket kits to community schools across Gandaki Province.
Expressing enthusiasm for the event, lead vocalist Amrit Gurung said,
“At a time when the country is gripped by crisis and frustration, it’s a privilege for artists and athletes to unite and spread hope. I sincerely thank the players and the Pokhara audience for making this possible.”
The open-air concert will be managed by Nepalaya, Nepathya’s long-time collaborator. Kiran Krishna Shrestha, head of the Nepalaya team, emphasized that the show combines professionalism with social responsibility.
The band lineup includes Amrit Gurung (vocals), Dhurba Lama (drums), Subin Shakya (bass), Niraj Gurung (guitar), Shanti Rayamajhi (madal), and Dinesh Raj Regmi (keyboard).
Tickets are available online via www.nepathya.com.np, each paired with a jersey priced at Rs 1,499, while students can purchase them for Rs 999.
Over its three-and-a-half-decade journey, Nepathya has combined music with meaningful causes — from “Sundar Shanta Nepal” and “Education for Peace” campaigns to initiatives like “Nepathya for Disabled” and “Nepathya for All.
