Nepal Telecom Introduces Free Wi-Fi at All Airports
KATHMANDU, Oct 28
Nepal Telecom (NT) has begun offering free Wi-Fi services at airports across the country, starting with Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. The initiative, launched under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aims to enhance convenience for travelers using both domestic and international terminals.
The service was officially inaugurated on October 28 at TIA’s international terminal building by Nepal Telecom Managing Director Sabina Maskey and Airport General Manager Hansraj Pandey. The Wi-Fi network now covers key areas of the airport, including the arrival and departure halls, VIP lounge, and passenger waiting zones.
According to Nepal Telecom, a formal agreement has been signed with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to expand the service to three international airports and 34 domestic airports nationwide.
Passengers can connect to the NT-CAAN Free WiFi network within designated areas and follow simple on-screen instructions to get online. The company said the rollout reflects its ongoing commitment to supporting digital connectivity and improving public access to the internet in Nepal’s key transport hubs.
