Nationwide Rainfall and Snowfall Expected, Says Weather Forecasting Division
Kathmandu, Oct 28
The Weather Forecasting Division has predicted rainfall and snowfall across various parts of Nepal due to the combined impact of westerly winds and a low-pressure system formed over the Arabian Sea. As a result, most parts of the country are experiencing generally cloudy conditions today.
According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, moderate rainfall and snowfall are likely in the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces. Light rainfall is also expected in one or two areas of the Tarai region today.
The Division further stated that heavy snowfall and rainfall are likely in the mountainous areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Tonight, the weather will remain generally cloudy in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, while the Tarai belt will experience partly cloudy skies.
There is also a chance of scattered snowfall and rainfall in one or two locations of the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, the Division noted in its latest weather bulletin.
Residents in high-altitude areas have been advised to take necessary precautions as heavy snowfall is expected tonight in parts of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
