India Enhances Border Surveillance Following Recent Explosions
Bardiya, Nov 13: Indian police have stepped up security along the Nepal–India border in response to recent explosions in the region, coordinating closely with Nepali security forces to prevent cross-border terrorism.
Special police units from India have initiated discussions with Nepali officials in border districts, including Bardiya, to strengthen joint patrols and counter rising terrorist threats. Acting on directives from the Indian central government, the teams met with Nepal’s Armed Police Force (APF) at the Kalabanjar post in Bardiya, stressing the importance of collaboration to maintain border security.
Harshita Tiwari, head of the Indian special police unit from Mihinpurwa in Bahraich district, Uttar Pradesh, met with APF Inspector Sushil Pandey in Gulariya to discuss operational measures. Superintendent of Police Man Bahadur Shahi said the talks focused on curbing cross-border crimes, sharing intelligence, and enhancing surveillance along the frontier.
Following recent explosions in Islamabad, New Delhi, and Dhaka, security forces on both sides remain on high alert. The 31st Battalion of the Armed Police Force in Bardiya confirmed that discussions included strategies for joint patrols, increased monitoring of suspicious individuals, and stricter border security protocols.
Bardiya shares approximately 83 km of border with India, much of it dense forest in Bahraich, which the APF has identified as a potential route for extremist infiltration. Authorities emphasized that sustained vigilance and coordinated action are crucial to prevent any cross-border terrorist activities.
