Cricketer Minash Thapa Dies in Motorcycle Accident in Biratnagar
December 25, 2025 — In a heartbreaking incident, Nepali cricketer Minash Thapa, age 27, lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Biratnagar early Thursday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 12:45 AM on an inner road in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-4 when the bike Thapa was riding went out of control while traveling from the Airport Line toward Ganesh Chowk. He sustained severe injuries and was immediately taken to Koshi Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after arrival.
Thapa was widely regarded as one of the promising cricket talents from Koshi Province and had played for teams including the Biratnagar Kings in franchise leagues. He also represented Koshi Province in national cricket competitions, earning respect across Nepal’s cricket community.
The sudden loss has shocked fans, teammates, and fellow athletes nationwide, with many expressing condolences and mourning the untimely death of the young cricketer.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash as communities rally to support Thapa’s family during this difficult time.
