Armed Police Force and India’s SSB Conduct Joint Border Patrol, Pillar Repair, and Clean-Up in Taplejung

The Armed Police Force (APF), in coordination with the District Security Committee and India’s Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), carried out a joint inspection and maintenance operation along the Nepal–India border in Taplejung.

The initiative was led by Taplejung Chief District Officer Shivaraj Sedhai and included personnel from the Nepali Army, APF, and Nepal Police. The team inspected border pillars and surrounding areas to strengthen cross-border cooperation and reinforce security.

The field inspection covered Sidingwa Rural Municipality–1 and Sirijangha Rural Municipality–8 (Timbung Pokhari) on the Nepali side, extending to Lampokhari in Gyalshing District, Sikkim, on the Indian side.

During the joint operation, APF and SSB personnel repaired and repainted damaged border pillars, while also cleaning up the no-man’s land between the two countries.

Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Pramod Prakash Pathak, Commander of the APF No. 1 Battalion Headquarters (Kanchenjunga), said the effort aimed to enhance mutual understanding, preserve the physical condition of border markers, and promote environmental cleanliness in this sensitive frontier zone.
