Brahmin and Chhetri Applicants Lead in Public Service Exams: PSC Report
KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Brahmin and Chhetri candidates made up the highest proportion of applicants in the Public Service Commission (PSC) examinations for fiscal year 2024/25, according to the commission’s latest annual report submitted to President Ram Chandra Paudel.
The report shows that out of 459,834 total applications received, 23.8 percent were from Brahmin (Hill) candidates, while 18.25 percent came from Chhetri applicants. These two groups topped the list of participants in the competitive exams.
Following them, the Tharu, Yadav, and Magar communities were also among the major contributors in terms of applicant numbers.
In contrast, Punjabi/Sikh, Lohorung, and foreign nationals represented the smallest applicant groups, with only two applications each recorded during the year.
